Nicky Phillips
Musician
Confessions wrapped in an indie-folk-pop style… Born and bred in London, Nicky Phillips felt the pull to move north; she shares her open-hearted songs on both guitar and piano through intimate performances across North West England.
Although Nicky had previously been active on the music scene, it was 2021 that pulled her back with her first ever release and self-titled debut EP with sold out shows in both Cheshire and London. The EP saw success in ‘Home’, which was a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Competition and was featured on Indie Folk Central’s first ‘Women of Indie Folk’ compilation. Another song from the EP, ‘The Dark’, was featured on BBC Music Introducing. Nicky has just finished her first tour in May 2024, including London, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Liverpool and Manchester.

I am make music that defies genre and does not fall under one category. My music is blend between my Egyptian roots & my UK influences, together I want to create my own recognisable sound. As for my message, my lyrics are disguised in metaphors and I aim to inspire people to fully explore their characters with no limit. We’ve been playing live since May 28th 2021 - we formed in university during lockdown so it was a bit of a slow burn at first, but as soon as we hit the stage we realised there was an energy between us and the audience that we were not used to experiencing, certainly not in little pub gigs. Fast forward a year and we have opened Islington Assembly Hall in front of hundreds of strangers - it was insane! And the crowd’s response was incredible. Fast forward another year and we’re now finishing up a long residency at The Camden Club in London where we’ve played numerous sold out shows. During this time we’ve also toured the UK and Portugal playing in front of crowds of up to 3,000 and we are ready to smash out the festival scene this summer and make the crowds go wild. Hello Amnesia isn’t the most well known band on the circuit, but we’re a great crowd pleaser (even to people who don’t like rock music) and we’re just keen to get out there and share our fun with more people!
